Something not working as expected with notifications? Check out some troubleshooting tips below.

## Not receiving notifications <a href="#h_01fgabn8s7avrr3fmgktpvckw4" id="h_01fgabn8s7avrr3fmgktpvckw4"></a>

### Troubleshooting steps

1. [Check that notifications are enabled in Glue](#check-that-notifications-are-enabled-in-glue)
2. [Check that your device is not in a do not disturb mode](#check-that-your-device-is-not-in-a-do-not-disturb-mode)
3. [Check for additional settings based on your device type](#check-additional-settings-based-on-your-device-type)

### **Check that notifications are enabled in Glue**

The first troubleshooting step across devices is to check your notification preferences in Glue.

1. Navigate to your preferences menu and [make sure notifications are enabled](#push-notifications-this-device). This is per device, so even if you have them enabled on one device, they might not be enabled on another.
2. If [notifications have not been enabled for your device](#notifications-have-not-been-enabled-for-your-device), follow the prompts to turn them on.
3. If [notifications are disabled for your device](#notifications-are-disabled-for-your-device), you will need to go into your [device settings](#checking-your-devices-notification-settings) to turn them back on.
4. If [notifications are enabled](#notifications-are-enabled-for-your-device), press the "send test notification" button to see if a notification comes through.
5. Double check what you have [inbox notifications](#inbox-notifications) set to — unless you have push notifications set to "All inbox messages" you will not receive push notifications for every message.

### Check that your device is not in a "do not disturb" mode

**Make sure your device's do not disturb or focus mode are turned off** - the name of this setting will be dependent on your device type.

* **Macs** - make sure Do Not Disturb or Focus settings are off.
* **Windows** - make sure Focus Assist and Quiet Hours are off.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note for Apple Users:** If you are signed into your Mac and iPhone with the same Apple ID, both devices will enter Do Not Disturb mode if you enable the setting on one of the devices.
{% endhint %}

### Check additional settings based on your device type

## Still having issues?

If you try our troubleshooting and still have issues, you can [reach out for support](/get-started/help-and-support.md). Please specify what exactly isn't working in your message — is it not seeing notifications, not hearing the sound, or something else? What were you expecting to happen, and what actually happened? The more detail the better! If you're able to send screenshots or screen recordings too that helps.
