The first troubleshooting step across devices is to check your notification preferences in Glue.
Navigate to your preferences menu and make sure notifications are enabled. This is per device, so even if you have them enabled on one device, they might not be enabled on another.
If notifications are enabled, press the "send test notification" button to see if a notification comes through.
Double check what you have inbox notifications set to — unless you have push notifications set to "All inbox messages" you will not receive push notifications for every message.
If your notifications are enabled, press the "send test notification" button for testing
Check that your device is not in a "do not disturb" mode
Make sure your device's do not disturb or focus mode are turned off - the name of this setting will be dependent on your device type.
Macs - make sure Do Not Disturb or Focus settings are off.
Windows - make sure Focus Assist and Quiet Hours are off.
Note for Apple Users: If you are signed into your Mac and iPhone with the same Apple ID, both devices will enter Do Not Disturb mode if you enable the setting on one of the devices.
Check additional settings based on your device type
Update your macOS notification preferences
Open your computer's System Preferences, then click Notifications.
Select Glue from the list.
Make sure the Allow Notifications from Glue toggle is on and your alert style is set to either Banners or Alerts.
If you do not see Glue as an app in your Notifications settings, try deleting the Glue app and reinstalling it.
Check your macOS Do Not Disturb settings
Click the toggles icon in the top right corner of your screen to open the Mac Notification Center.
Click Do Not Disturb and make sure it’s toggled off.
For Windows 10 - check your settings for Notifications & Actions
Click the Start menu.
Select Settings, then System.
From the left sidebar, click Notifications & Actions.
Ensure Get notifications from apps and other senders is enabled.
Find Glue in the list and check if notifications are enabled.
For Windows 11 - check your settings for Notifications
On Windows 11, open your Settings app.
Open System and then Notifications.
Make sure the Notifications are toggled On.
Find Notifications from apps and other senders.
Find Glue in the list and check if notifications are enabled.
If you can't toggle the notification on, check your Edge settings for notifications for the app.gluegroups.com site. Click the "..." at the top of the app and selectapp settings.Under permissions click "see permission details." Under notifications, make sure it says "allow."
Check your Focus Assist settings
On Windows 10, click the Start menu.
Select Settings, then System.
From the left sidebar, click Focus Assist.
Select Off to deactivate Focus Assist and resume receiving notifications.
Force quit the app and restart your device
Sometimes notification issues can be fixed by restarting your phone or tablet.
Update your iOS notification preferences
Open your phone's System Preferences, then click Notifications.
Select Glue from the list.
Make sure the Allow Notifications from Glue toggle is on and your alert style is set to either Banners or Alerts.
Check your iOS Do Not Disturb settings
Swipe down from the upper righthand corner of your screen to pull up your actions menu.
Look for the Focus button with the moon icon and make sure all focus modes are turned off.
Uninstall and reinstall the Glue app on your phone
Force quit the app and restart your device
Sometimes notification issues can be fixed by restarting your phone or tablet.
Update your notification preferences
Open your device's Settings app
Click on Notifications and then App Notifications
Find Glue and make sure notifications are toggled on
Click on Glue if you want to change other notification settings
You can also find your notification preferences from Settings > Apps > Glue and making sure notifications are allowed.
Also make sure that Google Play Services has notifications turned on. You can also find that under either Notifications or Apps.
Note: Google Play Services is required to receive notifications on Android. Make sure your device is supported.
Uninstall and reinstall the Glue app on your phone
For all browser types, check your device's system settings to make sure your browser is allowed to send notifications.
Chrome
From the Chrome menu at the top of your screen, select Settings.
Click Privacy and security in the left sidebar, then click Site Settings.
Below Permissions, select Notifications.
Make sure Sites can ask to send notifications is toggled on.
Make sure app.gluegroups.com shows up under "Allowed to send notifications"
Note: If you are using Chrome on a Mac, you will also need to go into your Mac system settings > notifications and allow notifications from "Google Chrome Helper (Alerts)"
Edge
From the Edge menu at the top of your screen, click the three dots icon.
Go to settings.
Click Cookies and site permissions in the left sidebar.
Below All permissions, select Notifications.
Make sure app.gluegroups.com is included in the Allow section.
Firefox
From the Firefox menu at the top of your screen, select Preferences.
Click Privacy & Security in the left sidebar.
Below Permissions, click the Settings button next to Notifications.
Make sure your Glue workspace is included in the Notifications Permissions list.
Safari
From the Safari menu at the top of your screen, select Preferences.
Click Websites, then select Notifications from the left sidebar.
Make sure your Glue workspace is allowed to send notifications.
Note: If you have an external monitor plugged in, the push notification will still appear on your main device, even if Glue is open on the external monitor.
No notification sounds
Check your notification sound preferences in Glue, check your device's notification settings and send yourself a test notification!
Check if sounds are enabled
Open your computer's System Preferences.
Select Notifications.
Find Glue in the list and make sure Play sound for notifications is enabled.
If using a browser, find the browser in the list and sure Play sound for notifications is enabled.
Check your audio output settings
Open your computer's System Preferences.
Select Sound, then click Sound Effects.
Next to Play sound effects through, check to see if the correct device is selected, then make sure your alert volume is turned up.
Make sure the box next to Play user interface sound effects is checked.
Send a test notification
Click your profile picture in the upper righthand corner.
Select Preferences from the menu.
Scroll to Push notifications (this device) and click the "Send test notification" button.
Check Windows notification settings
On Windows 10, click the Start menu.
Select Settings, then System.
From the left sidebar, click Notifications & Actions.
Find the Glue app or your browser in the list and check if Play a sound is enabled.
On Windows 11, open your Settings app.
Open System and then Notifications.
Make sure the Notifications are toggled On.
Find Notifications from apps and other senders.
Find Glue in the list and click on it. Scroll down and make sure play a sound when a notification arrives is enabled.
Send a test notification
Click your profile picture in the upper righthand corner.
Select Preferences from the menu.
Scroll to Push notifications (this device) and click the "Send test notification" button.
Note: If you are using an external monitor, try disconnecting your monitor and then running the test notification to see if the problem persists.
