Step 1: Add the Monday.com app to your workspace

Step 2: Add the Monday.com app to a group or thread

The Monday.com app can be added to either a group or a thread:

  • Group: When adding the Monday.com app to a group, it will create a new thread for each event you set it up for (e.g. new item added to a board).

  • Thread: The Monday.com app will send notifications to the thread.

To add the Monday.com app to a group, navigate to the group and then choose Apps from the menu to open the Apps tab of the group settings.​

To add the Monday.com app to a thread, navigate to the the thread and then choose Thread Settings from the menu. With the settings open, choose the Apps tab.​

From the Apps tab of either a group or thread, click to add Monday.com

Step 3: Authorize Monday.com and Connect a Board

Install the app

  1. If you are the first person setting up Monday.com with your Glue workspace, you will need to install the Glue app in Monday.com. You will see the prompt below. Click continue.

If you instead see a pop up that asks you to authorize, you can skip to the authorization steps below.

  1. You will be taken to Monday.com - what you see will depend on if you've already installed another Glue workspace to Monday.

    1. If you’ve installed Glue before (for another workspace you belong to): You’ll see an option to Update the app. Use the dropdown in the upper right corner to select the correct Monday workspace.

    2. If this is your first time installing any Glue workspace to Monday:

      You’ll see the Install Glue page, where you can choose the Monday workspace(s) to install to. Click Install.

  1. After installing or updating, close the Monday pop-up and return to Glue. You’ll see a confirmation message—click Continue to move to the authorization flow, where you’ll connect Monday to Glue.

Authorize the app

  1. You will need to authorize Glue to use Monday.com the first time you are setting up an integration with a Glue thread or group. Click Authorize.

  1. A browser pop up will appear asking you to continue. Select continue.

  1. If you are not logged in, a window will appear where you can login to Monday. Once you are logged in, you will see the screen below to Authorize Glue. Select Authorize.

Connect a board

  1. After authorizing, you will be returned to Glue to select a Monday.com board to connect.

Note: If you want to connect multiple boards, you will need to do so one at a time.

  1. Choose the events that you want to receive Glue threads or messages for. You'll receive messages when a new item is created and for any events that you enable here.

  1. The board you added will now appear as a connection in your group or thread when you click on the Monday app. From here you can connect another item to this thread or Remove any previously connected items.

Managing the app

To manage your Monday connections in the future, go back to the Apps section of the group or thread and click the edit button next to Monday.com. You will be able to create or remove connections.
