What is Glue AI?

Every user has access to AI tools at their fingertips through Glue AI, our AI assistant that leverages the power of LLMs.

Send a question to Glue AI to find out the status of a project, see who is the right person to ask about a topic, or get a summary of work done to date.

Glue AI only has access to the threads and groups that you as a user have access to. It will not answer any questions with information from threads or groups that the person asking does not have permission to see.

Glue AI is not trained on your data

How to use Glue AI

At mention @Glue AI in any message or thread, and ask a question. It will answer leveraging context from your workspace and the web. Here are the best ways to leverage Glue AI.

Glue AI tab

Glue AI has its own section in the app that consolidates all the private threads you've started with Glue AI in one place. Think of it as your personal scratchpad with Glue AI! Any conversation you have here is private to you.

You'll also see suggested prompts at the bottom of the composer with queries that you can ask Glue AI. These include questions about groups, users, or threads as well as prompts to analyze a document, provide feedback, or ask Glue AI questions about how Glue works. Click on any of these prompts to automatically add to the composer.

If you want to add a person or group to your thread with Glue AI, you can @ mention them in your next message in the thread or use the Add button at the top of the app. Once a Glue AI thread is shared with others, it will be moved into your thread inbox.

You can change your LLM model directly from the Glue AI tab by selecting the drop down menu in the upper righthand corner. The model is set to automatic by default.

You can still start a private thread with Glue AI anywhere in the app where you can create a thread. But we recommend using the Glue AI tab for the best experience!

Collaborate with Glue AI and your team

If you'd like to share your work with Glue AI with others, you can always add other groups or users to your private threads with Glue AI by @mentioning them and then clicking "Add to thread".

You can also interact with Glue AI in any existing thread that includes other people. Simply @GlueAI and ask it a question in the thread. It will immediately jump in and send a response to your question to the thread so everyone can see and benefit. Other users can then ask Glue AI follow up questions to create a multi-player prompting experience.

Give Glue AI as much context as you can in the prompt for more relevant answers

  • Mention the specific group or thread where the information is found, if you know it

  • Tell it to search the web if you want it to pull in outside sources

  • Make your questions specific and detailed

Features

  • Glue AI can search the web using Perplexity.

  • Glue AI can render tables of data in its responses.

  • Glue AI can analyze file attachments and uses them as additional context to answer user questions.

Here are the file types supported by Glue AI's file search:

.eml, .html, .json, .md, .msg, .rst, .rtf, .txt, .xml, .png, .webp, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .heic, .csv, .doc, .docx, .epub, .odt, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .tsv, .xlsx

If you want Glue AI to search or provide information about a specific file attachment, you should include the attachment directly in your prompt to Glue AI. You can also use the quote reply feature to reference a previously sent attachment in your prompt to Glue AI.

We don't support links yet for Glue AI file search — you will need to upload the actual file. We're working on this and will have more improvements coming soon!

Choose your own model

Glue AI is powered by several LLMs - and we're testing new models to support!

The models currently supported in Glue are:

OpenAI:

  • GPT-4.1

  • GPT-4o

  • o4-mini

Anthropic:

  • Claude 3.7 Sonnet

  • Claude 3 Opus

Google:

  • Gemini 2.0 Flash

  • Gemini 2.5 Flash Preview

  • Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview

The default setting in Glue is Automatic. At this setting, Glue AI automatically chooses the model that will perform the best for a particular query. Users can indicate their preferred model by navigating to Preferences and selected a particular model:

What's not supported yet

We're making improvements to Glue AI every day, but there are still a few things that are not yet supported.

Glue AI is not able to take action on behalf of a user or send messages elsewhere in Glue. It can't invite people to your workspace, create a group, send a message in another thread, or remind you to follow up on something.

Glue AI is also unable to tell you information about your workspace or group settings, membership, or admins.

Find information about Glue AI's response

There's an info icon when you hover over a message reply from Glue AI. This opens an information card that includes the model Glue AI used in it's response, as well as the list of sources. You can also leave feedback from this view.

Give feedback on Glue AI!

Let us know how it's going! If there's anything that is confusing about an answer from Glue AI or it isn't clear how to prompt it, we want to hear your feedback!
